Adamoxa Earrings
Druzy dioptase, moonstone, 18k yellow gold over silver. Cast elderberry foliage.
Lost wax cast, fabricated.
Each earring is approximately 2.25 x 2 x 0.15"
The name of these earrings is rooted in the words "adamantine"; the vibrant lustre of the rare mineral dioptase, and "adoxaceae"; the family of the elderberry.
I covet dioptase, use it sparingly in my work due to its rare nature and extraordinary beauty - each specimen is special that the composition must sing in order to use my limited supply. This was one of those cases where the elements spoke to one another, balanced each other, and let each other shine.
The Adamoxa Earrings are lightweight, elegant, and a beautiful; a flattering length that appeals to the big and bold jewelry lovers as well as those who lean more on the modest end when it comes to size. I'll say, there is nothing modest about the earring itself- 18k gold, dioptase, and these glowing moonstone refuse to fall into the background.
